Soccer.

Soccer in Cameroon has been able to grow over the years and create a strong position for itself in the regional and the international field. The National Soccer Team of Cameroon has established itself as one of the best in Africa as well as in the entire world.
Titled the Indomitable Lions, the National Soccer Team has given the country a number of soccer heroes who have created a strong impact not only in African grounds but in the international grounds as well. One of the legendary figures in Cameroon soccer is Roger Milla who is still remembered for his sheer skill and brilliant performances in the world cups.

Ngondo Festival.
The Ngondo Festival is in Douala, Cameroon's largest city. People meet on the Wouri river banks. This festival is about 10 days long for the first two weeks of December. Many people group together to celebrate warriors, legends, traditions and the coastal people. Some people also celebrate the ceremony of Jengu Cult which is a water spirit. Everybody enjoys being together, to celebrate what they have.

CAMEROONIAN FOOD


Many of the foods in Cameroon came from the explorers of the New World. The main influences on food were from the French and the Portuguese. Examples of food the French and Portuguese brought to Cameroon are hot peppers, cassava, corn, tomatoes, omelets, and French bread. Cameroonians still incorporate their traditional foods even today and that is what makes their food very special.
Foods in Cameroon vary from region to region and also on the climate. Common dishes are meat on skewers, fried or roasted fish, curries and peppery soups.

Climate
Cameroon is a very tropical climate with consistently warm temperatures. The warmest temperatures occur in the months March and May with an average temperature at about 84 degrees plus much dry heat. The cooler temperatures in August and November have an average of about 64 degrees. It is preferred to travel there in the months of January through April when the temperatures are at a moderate degree. It does get quite cool at night with significant drops in temperature later in the days. The western part experiences the warmest temperatures and the most rainfall.
Every month there are almost 13 days when it rains during the rainy season of July to October. During this time it is raining almost everywhere making the roads impassable at times. Also in the months between December and February often blows the harmattan, a wind from the Sahara desert carrying southwards sand and dust, reducing visibility and making the skies foggy.

Nature Attractions
Parc National de Korup has a wide range of plants, trees and birds. Extremely wet and humid, it is a must that you come visit. The Park is accessible by bush taxi from Douala.
Korup is certainly an great place for plant life and wildlife. Korup is Africa’s oldest and most diverse rainforest. Over 620 species of trees and shrubs and at least 480 species of herbs and climbers have so far been recorded Korup has over 400 species of birds. And over 1,000 species of butterflies. There are also 130 different species of fish and more than 160 mammals. Many of them are endangered and some have never been seen anywhere else.
Boat tours through the mangroves, creeks and rivers including Pelican Island and the fishing villages located along the riverbanks are attractive and interesting.

Parc de National Korup

Historical Site
Mount Cameroon is one of Africa’s most active volcanoes. It is also the largest volcano in Africa. One of the most visited tourist spots. It has amazing and beautiful plateaus. The volcano is visited every year by thousands of tourists and researchers. Mount Cameroon is a great and breathtaking experience. This mountain is effortless and easy to climb and it offers something for all tastes.
There are many different routes to take to climb this mountain, and is important that you select the right route to make the trip enjoyable and successful. In cases where routes are tricky, you can hire a expert guide to help lead the way. It is best to dress in light clothing and if possible have trekking equipment.
A historical spot on Mount Cameroon is the “1999 Eruption spot at Bakingili.” On March 28th, 1999, Mount Cameroon had its great volcano eruption. Although this eruption was big, no life was lost. People were evacuated just in time. A early warning system for Mount Cameroon has now been installed.
